- Below the surface there is a large underwater arch way into the open sea.
- This makes the Blue Hole easy access to the open sea for scuba divers.

- The large underwater rocks formed from the destroyed Azure Window have formed a reef have added to the underwater vista, providing home for sea creatures & fish.

An old photograph of a diver near the edge of the Blue hole. The Azure window, the arch way, in the background collapsed in 2017 forming an underwater boulder reef, adding interest to the dive site.
- In rough weather the sea surges both over the protective rocks that can be seen at the seaward side of the Blue hole, and out through the underwater arch in the rock wall. Depending on the amount of water coming over the rock barrier the out wood flow of water is through the under water arch. This flow could be dangerous to swimmers and make it difficult for snorkellers to return from the sea to the blue hole, so check for alternative water exit points which will be difficult because of waves crashing into the sharp edged rocks.
-
The blue hole is a clear large rock pool about 10 metres in diameter and before the the Azure window used to stand location.
- The hole can be viewed from the surrounding rocks, or follow the rough path over sharp rocks to the waters edge
- Very spectacular to view in rough weather, but view from a safe location.
